Labor Day Vacation

Max, Isaac and I made a quick trip to So Cal for Labor Day weekend. We went to the beach and LegoLand, and visited with Grandma K, and Dana, Richard and Jordann. Sunday was Dana's birthday, so we got to see Kim & David that day as well. Tyler and Kacey took care of Zachary while we were gone; we drove this time and he doesn't love being in the car. I think the most memorable thing for the boys was likely the pet chickens at Heimbacks house, and the 'chicken party' they all had on the trampoline. It was a fun little trip!

I guess it is time for my monthly post. Good times!

FINALLY...

So you probably stopped checking my Blog for new posts a long time ago, but just in case anyone is still there, I've decided to post a few things.

CHEEEEESE!
Zachary doesn't talk much, but one of the few words that he already knows how to say is CHEESE! I have to be quick with the camera (and sneaky) to get a picture of him without him making this lovely face.

Max's First Race
About a month or so ago, Max wanted to go jogging with me. I didn't want him to hold me back, so I suggested he ride his bike or scooter. Nope, he wanted to run. And it turned out it was me holding him back. We have found something that Max loves to do! Shortly after this discovery I got something in the mail about the Eagle Mountain City days and noticed that they have a 1k for the kids. I signed him up thinking he'd probably change his mind, especially when I woke him up to go at 7:30 am on a Saturday. Wrong again. He ran 1k in 4 minutes. (Does this mean I should be running the 5k races in 20 minutes?!) Max has gone running a few more times with me or with his Dad and he still likes doing it. I think we'll try the 1 mile race on the 4th of July.

In his own little world...

Isaac stays busy slinging webs, climbing walls, apprehending villains... the usual. Summer has finally arrived, so we're busy doing lots of summer time fun things. I will try to get some pictures and update my blog again soon.

Finally something to BLOG about!

So I finally did it. I took all 3 children to Disneyland. I haven't been since Max was 2, that was 5 years ago and I swore I wouldn't do it again. I felt like asking a 2 year old to wait in line for 30-60 minutes per ride was ridiculous, so for that reason I had avoided the place. We've been to Sea World a few times and the San Diego Wild Animal Park, but not Disneyland. But Isaac loves characters...i.e. Woody, Buzz, Mickey Mouse, etc. So I decided that since we had a whole week off for spring break last week, we would give it a try. Hoping for fun, but just expecting an exhausting week, Me, Max, Isaac, Zachary, and my two little sisters, Kacey & Kelli headed for the airport last Sunday. Daisy and her two boys drove over from Phoenix. And guess what!? It was fun! Still a little exhausting, but mostly fun! The lines were short, we walked right onto the BuzzLightyear ride twice, the weather was perfect, and we had a good time!

Zachary and Ian spent most of their time here, but plenty was going on around them for entertainment.
L to R: Ian, Isaac, Jack, Max & Zachary in their matching PJ's.
Isaac, me and Jack with someone that both of these boys wish they could be.

Jack, Isaac and Max showing off their new hats. Max had to have one since they have crazy hat day at school several times a year and we've never remembered to wear a hat.

We went to the beach in San Clemente and visited Grandma Killpack for 2 days too. The first day there it was a little cool, only about 75 degrees, but day 2 on the beach was perfect! 90 degrees and sunny. I had been avoiding the beach too because last time we went Isaac was 6 months old and that is NOT a fun age at the beach. Zachary is 15 months and he was a lot easier than an infant, so again, pleasantly surprised! We had the beach pretty much to ourselves (except for Mr. Leatherby of course!) and the boys wore themselves out running from waves, looking for sand crabs, throwing rocks in the water and digging in the sand.

Zachary ate lots of sand, he never seemed to tire of it. He always has been my best eater.

So it was lots of fun! I don't know if we'll make it to Disneyland every year, but I'm planning on visiting San Clemente and Grandma Killpack every year from now on.

Global Warming?

OK, this picture was taken last month (isn't our new porch railing cute?), but still, 6 more inches of snow in March? I didn't get pictures, but it snowed twice this week and was freezing cold every day until today, we were lucky to make it into the 50's. My tulips are never going to bloom! What happened to Global Warming? I was so enjoying the mild winters and the above average warmth. I think global warming will actually make Utah a pretty great place to live.

If you need some new music...

I would definitely recommend this CD by They Might be Giants. This is childrens music, but if you've ever heard They Might Be Giants before, then you know that they might have been making childrens music all along. All my kids love it, and it comes with a CD & DVD for $12.99 if you buy it on Amazon.com. In fact, here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Here-Come-Bonus-Tracks-Video/dp/B000V5YOZ6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1205790979&sr=1-4. We have two others by They Might Be Giants, "No" and "Here comes the ABC's" and they are both good too.

Guess who's 3?

No, it's not your friendly neighborhood Spiderman! Although he wishes he were! Isaac turned 3 on February 17th. See if you can guess the theme of the party (and his life). We watch one version of Spiderman nearly every day. He tries his hardest to spin webs and climb walls. Mostly he falls down a lot. He also avoids spiders, as he has seen how sick the spider bite made Peter Parker.
Isaac is so much fun! Everyone likes to play with him and he gets along with pretty much everyone. He is even tempered (most of the time) and so cute! Here is a conversation from earlier today:
Isaac: "Do we have a dog?"
Mom: "Nope."
Isaac: "Do we have any pets?"
Mom: "Nope."
Isaac: "Do we have lots of boys?"
Mom: "Yep, we have lots of boys at our house."

A couple of weeks ago I was running something over to a neighbor and Isaac wanted to come. I couldn't find his coat, so we put Max's big puffy down coat (picture A Christmas Story) on Isaac. Well, I should've seen this coming (I mentioned he falls a lot, right?) but as he stepped onto a big patch of ice on the neighbors driveway, his feet slipped out from under him and he landed flat on his back. I froze, waiting for his response. I couldn't really see his face from where I was standing and because of the big puffy hood. After a few seconds of silence and stillness I hear, "look at all the stars...and there's the moon!"
Happy Birthday Isaac!

Zachary's 1st Birthday!

Here are some cute pictures of the Birthday Boy.
He got a bounce & spin Zebra and some balloons, which were his favorite, along with the box the Zebra came in.
He is such a sweet boy and we love having him in our family.
Tyler, Aunt Daisy and cousin Caitlyn also celebrate their birthdays on January 31st, Happy Birthday to you all!
